Digital Technology Workshop

To further enhance our STEM learning at Holland Park High, 16 of our keen Digital Technologies students embarked on our second excursion for the year to QUT “Cube” for a full day coding workshop.

The students took part in QUT’s “Cars of the future” workshop. Using Aduino as our coding platform the students started off learning the protocols of the product to make lights blink on the robotic cards supplied.

We learned that these protocols are very similar to those of JavaScript, the language we have started to learn.  The workshop quickly developed.  By the afternoon the students had to program the robotic cards to follow as designated track, simulating what autonomous cars may be required to do in our very near future.

By all accounts the students had a great day and gained valuable first hand experience of coding.
