In March of 2019, Holland Park High will once again welcome a group of students and their teacher from Tennoji Senior High School, Osaka, Japan.
We are seeking families who would like to host one of our guests for their two-week stay. This year, the teacher would also like a homestay.
The group will arrive Sunday 3rd March and depart Saturday 16th.
The Japanese students visit with a view to experiencing a true taste of the Australian lifestyle, and so, apart from attending school each day with their host family buddy, they are keen to participate in all aspects of their host family’s life.
The Japanese students go through a very demanding selection process, and have always been, without exception, delightful young people who come to Holland Park full of enthusiasm and goodwill, and almost always with an excellent command of English!
Holland Park hosting students and their families enjoy a range of benefits from the experience – improved motivation and ability with their Japanese language studies, improved inter-cultural understanding, and of course, a rewarding friendship that is often long lasting.
Even students who are not currently studying Japanese will gain many of these benefits from the hosting experience, and are not only welcome, but encouraged to offer to host a visitor.
Students who may be interested should see Ms Uithol in B Block for an Expression of Interest letter, and return the slip attached by Friday 23rd November 2018.
