Interschool sport is available to all students at Holland Park State High. Junior Sport (years 7-9) occurs on a Tuesday, and Senior Sport (years 10-12) occurs on a Wednesday.
Our district's interschool sport program operates both a Summer and Winter season. The Summer season runs through terms 1 and 2, and the Winter season runs through terms 2 and 3. In our district we compete against Cavendish Road SHS, Mt Gravatt SHS, Mansfield SHS, Rochedale SHS, St James College, Brisbane Adventist College, Whites Hill State College, Coorparoo Secondary College and Citipointe Christian College. Sports that are 'home and away' will be hosted at each school, while some central venues are used for other sports (e.g. Griffith University, Hibiscus Sports Complex).
All students will make sports selections prior to the beginning of the sport season via a survey that has been emailed to them. Once students have selected a sport they will engage in a trial before teams and sporting options are finalised.
There is an upfront payment system for a user pays method, and this is used by the school to pay for sports buses and facility hire fees.
At Holland Park State High we encourage all students to participate in interschool sport to the best of their ability.
