In our High Performance Volleyball Program, here at Holland Park State High School, we believe that participation, collaboration and communication are the pillars to developing but only great athletes, but successful future adults. We understand there are some like lessons we simply can't teach inside a classroom. We continually work on our High Performance Volleyball Program to offer our students the opportunity to engage in an enriching, elite sports experience.
Program Areas
First introduced in 2001, the program is designed by qualified and experienced volleyball coaches to facilitate the development and extension of our student's skills, and it consists of: elite volleyball skill development; fitness training and a tailored injury prevention program; team work activities; leadership opportunities; officiating and match refereeing opportunities; and, tournament organisation.
Coaching
Our Volleyball Program is led by Graham Lobegeiger, a level 3 qualified coach with over 20 years of Volleyball coaching and playing experience.
Learning Opportunities
Students who participate in our High Performance Volleyball Program are given the opportunity to undertake Level 1 and Level 2 refereeing courses, which are run by Volleyball Queensland. Our students also have the option of taking an additional Level 1 coaching course.
We believe a great way of leaning is by learning, so we give our senior School Volleyball program members the opportunity to mentor and assist the junior teams and provide them with positive role models both on and off the Volleyball court.
The friendships that are formed and the guidance provided by our senior mentors is what assists students in developing their capacity for team work, leadership and effective communication.
