Homestay at Holland Park State High School
Homestay is an integral part of the intercultural experience we offer to international students. It provides a unique opportunity to live within an Australian household, experience the local lifestyle, and practise English in a genuine, supportive home environment.
Our homestay families play a vital role in welcoming students who may be travelling far from home for the first time. With warmth, care and a strong commitment to student wellbeing, they offer a safe and nurturing environment that helps students settle confidently into life and study in Australia.
Many students and host families develop strong and lasting bonds—relationships that often extend well beyond the students' time at Holland Park State High School and continue for many years to come. These meaningful connections enrich the lives of both students and hosts, fostering cultural understanding and lifelong global friendships.
Our Homestay Coordinator carefully selects and supports each host family to ensure the highest standards of care. Families are visited and interviewed to confirm their suitability and dedication to hosting international students. They are chosen not for the size or type of their home, but for their friendliness, availability, and genuine respect for cultural diversity.
If you are interested in joining our team of valued homestay hosts and contributing to an unforgettable experience for international students, please contact our Homestay Coordinator for more information. Rebecca Blemings rblem0@eq.edu.au
