The Kokoda Challenge is a gruelling, cross-country team endurance event that involves teams of four students and a teacher hiking together on a course designed to replicate the PNG Kokoda Track.
The trail takes a gruelling eight days to complete with 39 hours of hiking over steep ridges and deep valleys, all while dense rain forest encloses both sides of the single file passage.
Students are excited to test their physical and mental strength and experience firsthand the historical significance behind one of Australia’s wartime campaigns.
A key motivator for embarking on the Kokoda Trail, for both students and many travellers is discovering their own personal limits and experiencing how extraordinary mateship can be in the face of adversity.
