The P&C ran its first Twilight Markets back in 2019, with the ethos of bringing the community together to have fun, whilst supporting a local state high school and local businesses. It turned out to be a major fundraising activity, attracting close to 400 people from neighbouring areas and raised the much needed funds to improve the air conditioning in the school. To top it off, it was a community event thoroughly enjoyed by our students.
The event was to become a yearly tradition - until COVID-19 happened. So, to support the people and businesses doing it tough, this year we want to make the event bigger and better to support our school, students, and local businesses – and to lift our community spirit.
Not to mention, this year we will also be celebrating Holland Park State High's 50th Anniversary! It will be a great time for us to thank all those students, past, present and future, who have made, and continue to make Holland Park High what it is today. A highlight of the evening will be the opening of the 25th anniversary school time capsule.
Save the date and make sure you tell your friends and family to mark it in their calendars:
Date: Thursday 14th October
Venue: Holland Park State High School
Cost: Gold coin donation at the gates
Funds raised will be used to hopefully install an electronic signboard which will be extremely beneficial for our school community:
- Digital signage grabs people's attention
- Broadcasts important information faster and more effectively
- Real time updates - adapt and change content anytime, from anywhere
- Deliver critical information widely and efficiently
- Announcements and event promotions
- Bring in additional funds with advertising opportunities
The Twilight Markets are a testament to the combined energies of our entire community. A large team of parents work to produce an event that showcases our school and gives everyone in attendance the opportunity to feel our school's warm atmosphere and spirit.
