Science is taught across all year levels - compulsory in years 7-10 and an elective for years 11 and 12. By studying Science, students can experience the joy of scientific discovery and nurture their natural curiosity about the world around them. Students will focus on real world science, conduct hands on investigations and develop higher order thinking skills. In Science classes students will develop critical and creative thinking skills and challenge themselves to identify questions and draw evidence-based conclusions using scientific methods.
Through studying Science, students will:
- Develop an appreciation of their surroundings in the physical world.
- Be introduced to Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Earth and Space science.
- Develop skills in questioning and predicting, planning and conducting investigations, processing and analysing data and information, evaluating and communicating evidence.
